Announcing The Pinnacle Prayer Book!
A few years ago we were in Budapest and before going to sleep one night, Brad prayed that I would be sent in dream to a spiritual classroom to receive further guidance for our work together. That night I had a powerful vision in which I was presented with a small, black, leather bound book that had a picture of a child praying on the front. The title of the book was The Pinnacle Prayer Book.
I’m thrilled to report that the little illustrated book I received in that visionary dream has now been brought over from the other side!
What It’s About
Here is a description of the book, from the back cover:
Written and illustrated with childlike whimsy and deep sacred emotion, this unique book takes you on a mystical journey led by three simple prayers—each containing only three words. Along the way you’ll encounter many praying, singing, and dancing ancestors from around the world, from hymn writers to traditional healers and renowned saints. Saturated with soulfulness and crackling with creative imagination, The Pinnacle Prayer Book aims to ignite your heartfelt, experimental relationship to prayer and celebrates the oldest and most universal means of communion and union with the divine.
With Brad’s encouragement and additional visionary guidance, I made illustrations to accompany the text. Here is one from the part of the book where Frank Fools Crow and St. Francis of Assisi are hanging out with Charlie from North Carolina – a man from the turn of the 20th century who became filled with the holy spirit and tried to throw his arms around an elm tree:
And here is a picture of the big mystery love overflowing (hint – you are the teacup in this scenario):
All of these illustrations were originally made digitally, and the plan was to put it all in a little e-book and post it on our website. But some folks from our Sacred Ecstatics community wanted to be able to hold the book in their hands and give it as a gift to other paper-inclined friends and family. Thus, they raised some funds to support turning the book into a paperback.
Thank you!
How to Get the Book
We’re giving away the ebook for free right now on this website, and the paperback is available on Amazon. Click here to access the link to both.
We’re also excited that the ebook will soon be available in German. The Swiss hermit Saint Nicholas of Flue (1447-1487) would probably be happy about that. Here is a picture of his mountain hut from chapter one, which in our mystery realm is near a baseball diamond:
As I write in the preface:
I hope this book inspires your experimental and experiential relationship to prayer, igniting spiritual passion as it delivers a surprising zing, moves you to sing, comforts you with blessed assurance, and warms your life with heavenly sunshine. Welcome to the bubbling champagne of prayer, the gentle falling rain of holy communion, and the snap, crackle, pop, hop, skip, and jump of sacred ecstatic communication. Discover how prayer can take you on a journey to new places within yourself where sleeping creative faculties lie, ready to awaken. Prayer can also provide the means of nighttime visionary transportation to the other side of mystery. There you uncover the treasures of sacred emotion and heightened inspiration beyond your wildest dreams.
