The Oldest Healing Dance in the World

Pure dance footage (no talking). This is a rare glimpse of both the men’s (giraffe) and women’s (gwa) healing dances of the Bushmen (San) of the Kalahari region of Southern Africa. This is not the kind of dance that is witnessed on tours to visit the Bushmen. This contemporary footage was taken sometime around 2004. Brad, who dances with both the men and the women, placed a camera on his head and one on a stick at his feet so that you can view the dance from inside it, so to speak. For more on the Bushman dance, as well as the doctors (healers) shown in this video, see our book Way of the Bushman. Note the women’s dance footage comes at about 12:11.
